New Construction Supervision

Despite the move by many yacht builders in recent times toward the construction of semi-production yachts every specification is different, and yacht owners' requirements and expectations vary greatly. The advantages to an owner of the presence on site of a company with Aquis Marine's expertise and experience to represent those requirements, and to work continuously to ensure that the finished yacht meets or even exceeds expectations, cannot be over stressed.

Technical Consultancy. Yachts and Ships are becoming more and more technically complex, and without the necessary expertise in place during repairs or modifications, or during the construction of a vessel it is easy to lose control of costs and time. Aquis Marine provides a number of complementary services including:

Drawings and Specification Reviews. The earlier flaws, ambiguities or other problems are identified the sooner solutions can be found and the less chance they will impact on the project. Just as writers have their work proof-read, the benefits of having plans, drawings, specifications and work lists reviewed by an independant consultant should never be underestimated.

Vessel Conversions or Modifications. It is often the case with older existing yachts and commercial vessels that documentation and drawings are missing and their histories are incomplete, so the risks of encountering unexpected and costly 'snags' during major modifications are very real. Aquis Marine can carry out a study of the proposed project to identify and quantify such potential problems in terms of cost and delay, and formulate plans to mitigate those costs and delays should they arise.

Safety Management and Flag State Compliance. Aquis Marine can assist vessels with the construction of their safety management systems and the preparation for audits, and in the resolution of any non-conformities or compliance issues raised during audits or flag state inspections.
